VOLKSWAGEN T3 Front Bumper & Winch Mount

This bumper assembly fits to VOLKSWAGEN T3 vehicles.

This is a very robust product, manufactured from stainless steel throughout with the main shackle plates in 10mm thick material, winch supports in 6 & 8mm thick material and other bumper and guard plates in 3mm material.

The central winch mount section and side bumper sections are fully welded.

Side bumper sections are bolted to the central winch mount section for ease of assembly and maintenance.

Designed and manufactured in Yorkshire, this bumper assembly is carefully designed to give your vehicle rugged Yorkshire appeal. It is also a practical recovery mounting to make sure you can travel the moors and mountains in safety.

IMPORTANT:

You must test fit and assemble this kit to your vehicle BEFORE painting or powder coating to ensure that everything fits correctly. We cannot accept product returns that have been painted first then found to not fit your vehicle.

Installation is straightforward and the main steps are:

1. Remove the existing front bumper.
2. Remove any guard panel(s) under the front end of the vehicle.
3. Offer the central winch mount unit up to the front of the vehicle.
4. The central unit has a bearing plate that should rest on the steel sub-bumper that is part of the vehicle structure, in front of the vertical seam on the sub-bumper.
5. The rear of the central unit should project over the sub-bumper seam. Place the two loose cylindrical spacers under the two cylindrical bolting points at the back of the central unit so that they bear on the sub-bumper just behind the vertical seam.
6. The lugs on the ends of the two rearward projecting shackle plates should sit flat on the underside of the vehicle chassis beams and line up with the holes in those beams. Support the central unit securely in this position.
7. Bolt the side bumpers to the central section.
8. Check that the bumper is aligned and fits correctly and that offer up your winch to check that it clears the bodywork.
9. Complete the installation by drilling through the two cylindrical bolting points at the rear of the central unit and completely through the sub-bumper with a 13mm diameter drill and bolting through these positions. If necessary also drill through the lugs on the ends of the two rearward projecting shackle plates and completely through the chassis beams 13mm diameter. Bolt through these positions. Finally bolt the side bumpers to the sub-bumper through the original bumper mounting points in the face of the sub-bumper.
10. Fit your winch, fairlead and shackles. (These are not included in our kit.)
