Fitting Instructions

Installation

Ladders are installed with connections to the existing rear doors hinges and the skin of the door. This gives a simple proven and stable ladder connection to the vehicle. You do not need to remove the door or loosen the hinges for this installation.

It is important that you test fit and assemble this ladder BEFORE painting or powder coating to ensure that everything fits correctly. We cannot accept product returns that have been painted first then found to not fit your vehicle.

Installation is straightforward and has the following key steps:

  1. Remove the internal door card to allow access to the space within the door.
  2. Offer the ladder up to the vehicle hinges and position the hinge connection brackets so that they sit vertically central on the inner hinge faces.
  3. Mark the position of the mounting holes on the hinges.
  4. Drill the hinges Ø9mm at these positions.
  5. Bolt the ladder to the hinges and then mark the panel bracket hole position on the face of the door.
  6. Drill through both door skins at this position.
  7. Bolts the ladder in place and check that everything is aligned correctly.
  8. Remove the ladder and paint or powder-coat as required.
  9. Paint any drilled holes in the vehicle to reduce corrosion risk.
  10. Finally re-fit the painted ladder also bonding the panel bracket to the door panel to spread the load and seal the door.

Our Ladders are all made to order, usually on a 4 week lead time. Once you place your order we will schedule it into production and manufacture and ship it as soon as possible.
